Mash Up 3 articles

Architectural designing has existed since the time human beings began building houses for themselves. We made crude homes from stone, wood, and whatever else we could find useful for making our houses. And those structures were neither comfortable nor stylish in comparison to the sophisticated interiors that architects design nowadays.Within architecture (and design and planning), there are always several simultaneous realities. One very pragmatic reason is that architecture is a very slow form of communication: it may take several decades from the moment a concept arises somewhere to the point where it becomes mainstream knowledge within the industry, and then even more time before it reaches the general public. As a live research site, the building’s systems and operational capability are being constantly monitored and adjusted to ensure maximum comfort for the space’s occupants. What we have learned from the design, construction and operation of this building is informing future sustainability projects. Since per definition, architecture is always about combining a lot of knowledge. Knowledge of technology, knowledge of economy, knowledge of aesthetics and of social issues.
